RE: Printer
Is the driver maybe a 32bit only driver ? Maybe it needs the libsane:i386 package then.
Can you try installing libsane:i386 with
Code:
sudo apt-get install libsane:i386
and see if it works for you.

RE: Printer
Have tried this and also reinstalled the libsane files..I cannot understand why the install script works in
Knoppix and all the *buntu distros yet I cannot get it to run here using exactly the same driver install prog..

RE: Printer
Maybe it wants a particular libsane version or something. Is the install script producing output in the terminal if started in it ?
Maybe it can help diagnose the problem.

All the install script tells me libsane is not available but I look in the sane file and libsane
is in there I have reinstalled the basic files several times but cannot find a solution, Think I will drop a line to Samsung to see if they can help.

I guess when they ask which distribution you are using tell them Debian, as Neptune and Debian are the same basically on that matter.

I have just installed Debian to my spare drive and copied the driver install script over to it from my Neptune partitian and the driver works ok so I shredded the Neptune drive to ensure a clean start reinstalled Neptune but still I get a "missing libsane" message...

RE: Printer
Can you give me a link to the driver so I can check it out here on a testing machine for myself.

RE: Printer
I added the repo like described in the link and then installed the driver with
Code:
sudo apt-get install samsungmfp-driver
This works fine. I was also able to install suld-scanner-usblp-fix package.
With what exact package do you have trouble ?
