The ZevenOS Team is proud to announce the release of ZevenOS RC1.
We put a lot of work in improving overall performance and visual appearance.
The BeOS Touch was never so good in a linux distribution. With Sawfish our new window manager we have a lightweight but powerfull and very configurable window manager.
The great xfce panel is a beautiful addon to our Deskbar. MAGI 1 and 2 are as powerfull as they never were before and simply look beautifull. With the combination of Abiword and Gnumeric we offer the best and fastest office suite out there supporting a lot of new features like online collaboration.
We optimized our Webbrowser Epiphany for speed and included some famous extensions, like a addblocker. With Sylpheed we have a fast, lightweight but powerfull e-mail client that works impressivly well with imap. With the newest Gimp version (2.6) even proffessionell image artists will be happy. Gthumb and Quodlibet are the main apps for image and music management. With audacity , avidemux , YAVTD, Encode, Brasero (0.8.2) we offer a very productive multimedia suite that not only allows you to convert your videos to your favorite encoding format but also allows you to easily create DVDs and CDs for your Home DVD Player. If you want to share your favorite files very easily of the network we included giver that makes it easier as ever before.
Do you have a second Operating System installed we also support the major partitions out of the box. It's not necessary any more to edit cryptic text config files to mount NTFS/FAT32/BFS or FAT16 partitions. If you want to change the Bootloader we included an easy Bootup Manager that lets you set various options with a single click.
If you are a developer we include everything you need. With Geany you are able to quickly write or edit c, c#, c++, python, java or whatever programming language you use.
For beginners we included Gambas 2 IDE which is just amazingly easy to use.

Das ZevenOS Team kann heute voller Stolz ZevenOS RC1 präsentieren.
Wir haben in den letzten Monaten und Wochen hart daran gearbeitet das System zu verbessern, schneller zu machen und ein einheitlicheres Aussehen zu geben.
Herausgekommen ist das beste ZevenOS mit dem besten BeOS Touch den es für ein Linux System gibt. Mit dem neuen Fenstermanager Sawfish haben wir einen wirklich sehr leichtgewichtigen dafür aber sehr gut anpassbaren Fenstermanager. Das XFCE Panel ist eine geniale Erweiterung für die ZevenOS Deskbar. Mit MAGI 1 und 2 haben wir 2 geniale und sehr mächtige Werkzeuge geschaffen um sein System zu konfigurieren oder ganz einfach ein Programm zu starten. Optisch sahen beide nie besser aus. Auch im Bereich Bürosoftware haben wir mit der Kombination von Abiword und Gnumeric wirklich die beste und schnellste Lösung die es gibt die einige neue Features bietet, wie z.B. das Kollaborationsplugin.
Unser Webbrowser Epiphany wurde weiter optimiert und ist schneller als jemals zuvor und bietet mit Hilfe von Extensions nützliche Erweiterungen, wie z.B. einen Werbeblocker.
Mit Sylpheed haben wir ein schlankes, schnelles E-Mail Programm, das verdammt gut Imap Konten umgehen kann.
Auch professionelle Bilderbearbeiter und Künstler werden sich freuen die neuste Gimp Version (2.6) bei ZevenOS zu finden. Für die Verwaltung von Bildern und Musik bringt ZevenOS Gthumb und Quodlibet mit die einfach hervorragend sind.
Mit Audacity , Avidemux, YAVTD, Encode, Brasero (0.8.2) bieten wir eine sehr produktive Multimediasammlung an, die nicht nur in ein favorisiertes Videoformat codieren kann, sondern auch DVDs und CDs für die Heim DVD Anlage erstellen kann.
Auch für das Dateien und Ordner teilen haben wir eines der einfachsten Tools beigepackt das es gibt. nämlich Giver.
Habt ihr ein zweites Betriebsystem auf eurem Rechner ? Kein Problem ZevenOS bietet euch die Möglichkeit jede Menge Dateisysteme zu lesen und einige sogar zu schreiben, ohne lästige oder kryptische Konfigurationsdateien zu bearbeiten. Auch die grafische Einstellung des Bootmanager ist mit einem klick möglich.
Wenn ihr Entwickler oder Programmierer seit, haben mit Geany ein sehr einfaches, schnelles und mächtiges Programm zur Entwicklung in C, C#, C++, Python und Java. Auch Scriptsprachen, CSS, HTML, XML werden mit Syntaxhighlighting unterstützt.
Für alle Einsteiger in die Programmierwelt gibt es das geniale Gambas 2 IDE, dass kinderleicht zu bedienen ist.

Alles in allem ist ZevenOS der perfekte Linux Einstieg für alle BeOS Switcher. Es fühlt sich einfach nur schnell und gewohnt an.
