Notebook Webcam Drivers?

I've spent a few hours trying to find drivers for my notebook's internal webcam & webcam's generally. I've tried installing Cheese to bring in the required drivers, but no joy. I'm installing everything suggested in forums but no success. I am going to re-install tonight on a new drive.

Normally ucv should support all webcams.
Does your webcam work with the guvcview application ?

Sadly it can't find the webcam. I've never had this issue before so the drivers must exist I assume.

Please post your webcam name and specifications.
lsusb (if it is connected via usb [internally or externally])
or lspci for everything else.
