rsyslog daemon - Sergeant_Pepper's_Lonely_Hear - 12-15-2018 12:37 AM

I noticed rsyslog daemon running in the background.
Code:
user@neptune1:~$ ps -A | grep rsyslog
  569 ?        00:00:00 rsyslogd
Here is a description:
https://wiki.debian.org/Rsyslog

I noticed that rsyslog appeared as an installed package in my former thread:
https://www.zevenos.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=23072&highlight=rsyslog

Now I am wondering what this is used for. What is the purpose of rsyslog being included in this distribution? Put another way, what will break if I kill this daemon?

It is pulled as logging system by a package I assume.
