Allgemein May 21st, 2009We are proude to announce the release of ZevenOS 1.9 a preview release for version 2.0
The underlying system has been updated to Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04) which brings speed improvements and new hardware support.
Consider this version as a preview version which is not as stable as version 1.1.
Version 1.9 is recommned for developers and techgeeks. Beginners should stick to version 1.1
A new bootsplash and wallpaper was implemented through the help of the community. (Thanks to anatolij)
Our software was updated to the latest version you also know from the past updates to ZevenOS 1.1, including a improved Deskbar aswell as MAGI 2, DiskManager and People.
Our updated base system Jaunty brings not only more speed but updated applications aswell which fixed a lot of bugs. But the new system brings also some regressions, like the Intel graphics card performance and stability issues aswell as some incompatibility to some old python applications.

The final release will be out in the 4th quarter this year.
I assume after the release of Ubuntu Karmic.

Yeah. Really looking forward to the V2 release, as V1.9 holds a lot of promise. ZevenOS is the first time I have used Xubuntu. Have used Ubuntu and Kubuntu. They were ok and did the job, Kubuntu, being very pretty with it. But I can live without all that. I really like the speed Xubuntu gives me. So cheers to all involved……Good job.
